Our Story
Fresco Hardwood Flooring is one of the UK's most experienced specialist wood flooring companies. Founded as a standalone division of Fresco Group in 2006 — itself trading since 1993 — we bring genuine generational expertise to every project we undertake.
Our Managing Director Ian Staines' family heritage in flooring dates back to the 1930s, when his grandfather ran a carpet manufacturing business. That eight decade lineage informs every aspect of how we work: thoughtfully, properly, and with a deep respect for the material.
From in-house manufacture and sourcing through to surface finishing, installation and lifetime aftercare, we deliver wood floors for the country's most demanding architects, interior designers, main contractors and private clients.
Sectors We Serve
We work where wood flooring matters most — from heritage landmarks and ecclesiastical settings to luxury private homes, retail flagships and high-traffic sports halls. Each sector demands a different specification, and decades of experience to know which.
Offices, retail flagships, hotels and hospitality venues — surfaces that perform under daily public footfall while elevating the brand environment.
Luxury private homes and bespoke residential installations. Marquetry feature panels, herringbone parquet, hand-finished planks — built to last generations.
Specialist sports halls, gyms and leisure facilities — including Junckers sports flooring systems engineered for performance and safety.
Listed structures and landmark historic interiors. Sympathetic restoration, period-correct material sourcing, and a deep regard for the building's story.
Schools, colleges and universities. Durable, beautiful flooring specifications that meet rigorous safety, acoustic and longevity requirements.
Churches, cathedrals and religious buildings. Reclaimed timbers, ecclesiastical-grade installation, and the patience these spaces demand.

Our Services
From design inception to lifetime aftercare, we manage every stage in-house. Our project managers and site operatives travel UK-wide and across continental Europe.
We supply and install all timber floor types — from straightforward plank installations to highly complex bespoke marquetry. Already sourced your own flooring? We're happy to provide installation only, applying the same standard of fit, finish and aftercare to client-supplied material.
We are expert wood flooring restorers. Every restoration begins with a thorough on-site survey assessing the floor's condition, species, age and substrate. From there, we plan a complete overhaul — sanding back, repairing, replacing damaged boards in matching timber, and re-finishing to either modern or period-correct specifications.
From the initial design brief through to handover and beyond, our in-house management team oversees every stage. We work directly alongside architects, interior designers, main contractors and private clients, taking ownership of timelines, specifications, site coordination and quality control — and providing lifetime aftercare once the floor is in.
